Chat live with a law librarian!
What is Meebo?
Meebo is a Web-based service which allows Library visitors
to ask our reference librarian questions through online Instant
Messaging via a widget on our Web site.
This chat service is meant for simple, short, easy to answer, questions. Any questions beyond this scope will be directed to the nearest law library.
Do I need to Log In to use Meebo?
No account is required.
How do I use Meebo Instant Messaging?
Type your question into the smaller white box with the text
"Type here and hit enter to send a private message."
Once you've typed your question and hit Enter, a Reference
Librarian will respond as soon as possible (not necessarily
immediately) during normal Reference Hours.
Who will see my message?
Only the Reference Librarian.
When can I send you a message?
Chat Reference is available M-F 8 am - 5 pm and Saturday 9 am - 1 pm. Even during these times, Reference Chat may be unavailable due to various circumstances. If you want to leave a question for us when we're offline, please provide us with a way to contact you later with an answer. You can also email us at or phone (619) 531-3900.
Is there anything I can't ask?
We will help you with your legal research needs, but we do
not provide legal advice. We reserve the right to refuse service
if user is inappropriate.
