November 23, 2010 - The San Diego County Public Law Library welcomes Hon. Yvonne Esperanza Campos as the newest member of its board of trustees. Appointed by Gov. Gray Davis to the San Diego County Superior Court in 2003, Judge Campos has been an active member of numerous Bar associations throughout her legal career. She served on the State Task Force on Court Facilities as the Senate Rules Committee Appointee and the Immigration and Naturalization Service Citizens' Advisory Panel.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, she served as Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of California from 1995 to 2003, and Assistant to Attorney General Janet Reno from 1994 to 1995. She earned her B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Stanford University and J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Judge Campos was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the new law (SB 113) which changed the number of judicial seats on the board from four to five. Judge Julia Craig Kelety, President of the Law Library Board of Trustees made the announcement Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at its monthly board meeting. "We are very pleased that she agreed to serve on the board," says Kelety. "I know that with her wealth of experience and impressive credentials, she will be a great asset to the Board."

The Board of Trustees is a nine-member appointed body that sets policy and overall guidance in the administration of the Public Law Library. Members of the Board include judges elected from the San Diego County Superior Court and attorneys appointed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Campos will join current trustees, Carolyn Brock, Esq., Jeffrey D. Cawdrey, Esq., Judge David M. Gill, Judge Albert T. Harutunian III, Nathan L. Low Esq., Linda Ludwig, Esq., Judge Julia Craig Kelety, and Judge Robert O'Neill.
